A community-rooted vision for collective care, restoration, and the conditions that help communities and movements thrive.
Be. Bold. and Flourish. brings together community leaders, organizers, artists, healers, and changemakers to explore wellness, rest, healing, and care as collective practices rooted in dignity, access, belonging, and connection.
Together, we'll explore the conditions that help communities thrive—from food and economic dignity to art, culture, rest, and reclaiming our attention.
Join us as we imagine and build a future where care isn't an afterthought, but part of the infrastructure that helps us flourish.
Session Highlights
Joy is Not Extra!
Workshop Presented by Salina Mae
Why wonder, creativity, connection, and delight are essential ingredients for sustainable leadership. Many of us have spent years overcoming obstacles, caring for others, and building meaningful lives. Yet somewhere along the way, we can lose touch with the very things that help us feel alive. This uplifting, experiential session explores how joy, creativity, beauty, wonder, and connection can restore energy, strengthen resilience, and help us more fully inhabit the lives we’ve worked so hard to create. Through creative arts, embodied practices, reflection, and connection, participants will have space to experience joy—not simply talk about it—and reconnect with their own capacity for aliveness, imagination, and possibility.
Art Access as Neighborhood Care
Infrastructure
Workshop Presented by Roshaun Davis
Art Access as Neighborhood Care
Infrastructure explores how creative practice can strengthen neighborhoods by expanding everyday access to belonging, healing, restoration, and collective care. The session highlights the arts not as enrichment at the margins, but as essential community infrastructure. Through reflection, asset mapping, and capital investment, the session will examine barriers to arts access, identify existing cultural strengths, and develop practical neighborhood-based prototypes that support connection, cultural memory, civic participation, and community resilience.
The workshop strengthens neighborhoods through arts access and positions creative expression as a practical strategy for community wellness, repair, and resilience. In alignment with Be. Bold. and Flourish., the session responds to a broader need for spaces where residents, artists, organizers, and public leaders can imagine care as something built through relationships, culture, place, and shared practice.
The Way We Heal is the Way We Lead
Workshop Presented by Glenda Macatangay, MSW
Inspired by Macatangay’s memoir, Salt in Her Lungs, and their My Healing Language framework, this 60-minute experiential workshop explores how our lived experiences shape the ways we lead, relate, respond to conflict, and care for our communities. Through storytelling, embodied reflection, ancestral wisdom, and generative dialogue, participants will identify the healing languages that support them and examine what they carry into their leadership. This workshop does not ask us to become fully healed before we lead. It invites us to lead with greater awareness—so that our unexamined pain does not become part of the cultures we create, and our healing can become a source of collective care, dignity, and repair.
